My Fleece Jacket

Hello fellow crafters...many of you do not know that I am also a seamstress! I began sewing when I was 7yrs old....making clothes for my dolls by hand...I have made everything from swim suits to wedding gowns...and now I only sew for myself mostly. Although, recently I was asked by one of my fellow scrap queens to make jackets for our crop group...so here is how the jacket turned out...it is made of a plush fleece fabric in torquoise/brown zipper & brown embrodiery thread. the left sleeve has a pocket on it to place your cell, or I.D., so something light weight like a I-Pod. On the front is a pocket on each side of the zipper.
I chose to place my blog name on my jacket, this is great for advertising my blog site, I am now thinking of other apparel to embroider on (lol) I am very pleased how this jacket turned out!
Maybe for breast cancer month, I will design one in PINK....whatta think?

Throw Back Thursday

This is my project to submit for "Throw Back Thursday Challenge" on "My Creative Time" w/Emma!
She asked that we use the cart "Walk In My Garden" and use flowers! I decided to use a flower pot, and fill it with flowers and add add'l flowers to the outside of the pot!
I cut the Image of the pot & flowers @ 4", added some bling with MS glitter pens, some yellow gross grain ribbon, and a stamp that says it all "THANKS A BUNCH"....(from stampin up) I hope you like it!

Birthday Cards

I just got a kick outta making this birthday card. Peachy Keen stamps makes it so easy-peasy to do facial expressions...as I stated previously on the other card, I starting to use more of my older carts with some new ones, and I am finding that there are so many images that you would never run out of what to create if you were to make something from every image on each cart...ok, enough of my brainy thoughts (lol)
I created this card with Paper Doll Dress Up cart and I selected Raggdy Ann, and I used my Gypsy to remove the cut-outs of the face so I could use my facial stamp...I don't know if Raggdy Ann is afraid, surprised, or actually gonna blow out the candles...so I decided to put a sayin "Make A Wish", and I thought the flowers could use some bling on the cake, so I placed mini rhinestones on the flowers, the stamp is from stampin-up, I added some twine, a button, and I thought the card needed some background color, so I striped it with the matching plaid from Ann's bloomers, and topped it with a Red square, I corner punched  the red square and used my white gel to make it pop....Voila!!! I hope this gives you inspiration to create some diff background without overpowering the main piece-Raggdy Ann!!! Isn't she cute.....

Birthday Cards

Happy Wednesday fellow crafters...I decided to do another birthday card, this time, I chose torquoise as my base color. I decided that I wanted to start this year using some of my cartridges that I recently purchased along with some older cartridges that way my inspiration of "why I just had to have that cartridge " would resurface and cause me to use a new one and a older one on the same day. Although right now I am posting a more recent purchased cart, my next posting will be of a older one I've had for a while.
I was inspired to make this ice cream cone and place a face on the strawberry to give it a little happy look!
I used Sweet Treats cart and cut out the ice cream at 4", I used chocolate cardstock for the background of my card, then I topped it with a torquoise cardstock embossed with the words "happy birthday", I felt that my ice cream cone was a little bland looking so I blinged up the ice cream and strawberry with some glitter, I shaded the cone itself with a "color box" chalk" brown around the edges, then I stamped my word "happy birthday" from stampin up, used my white gel pen to stitch around the chocolate edge of the card, the ribbon of torquoise w/brown dots was my inspiration of colors to use.
Hope you like.....my goal is to have at least (6) feminine birthday cards ready, and (6) male birthday cards..never know when you will need to send one out!
Enjoy

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge

Hello fellow crafters', this card was created for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge posted on Thursday Feb. 3rd. The challenge was to use "Wild Card" & or "Just Because Cards" cartridges.
And the card must have a printed sentiment on it.
I chose to use both cartridges, and this is the results.
Here is my recipe: the card is cut @ 5x6 /12", layered with black as the base 4 3/4"x6 1/8"
Red layer 4 1/2"x5 3/4", gray was cut @ 4 1/4"x5 1/2" then embossed with circles embossing folder.
I added blk/wht twine from "The Twinery", & added a plaid bow
from the Wild Card cart=I cut the frame for the stamp @ 6" and the outer part was cut using red-cardstock
from the "Just Because Cards" cart I cut the pick-up truck @ 4"...finishing touch was the doodling in white gel and black ink.
My printed sentiment was from "Stampin Up Stamps" and the red ink used is Ruby Red also from "Stampin-up"
I hope this inspires you to use your cartridges and mix & match to get the look you want!

Thursday 2-10-11

this card was created for my bro-n-law who will be celebrating a birthday on the 17th, he likes motorcycles
and a few years ago he bought himself a motorcycle, so my husband and I thought he would enjoy this card,
the motor cycle was cut at 4" from the "Going Places" cart, I used white cardstock to emboss Happy Birthday for the background, and I used gray cardstock to represent the road and added white gel to make the white lines on the road...and yes another purchased card from my recollection stash!...enjoy
My husband's other brother wanted me to make a card for the same brother as well, so he asked me to do one with a camera on it, so thank God..."Going Places" also had a camera on it and I cut it at 2 3/4" and cut the flash at 1 3/4"..again I used the Happy Birthday embossing folder...I sure am getting some use out of the Happy Birthday embossing folder....
My husband's brother is a retired teacher, and he just recently found out that one of his good friends passed over the weekend...so I designed this beautiful Sympathy card for the family...I decided to keep it simple but beautiful with soft pink and cream, I used "Wild Card" for the With Sympathy writing, and I use MS Lace punch to make it more attractive, and I used my corner rounder to make the edges blend in for the over all effect of feminine softness..all of this was placed on a soft-pink cardstock of 6 1/2"x5 1/2"
I created this Valentine card for my SPECIAL VALENTINE (hubby)...I used the cupid w/arrow die cut from "Sweetheart" cart, popped it on a background of hearts embossed, a 2 1/2"x4" pink strip that was punched with MS scallop dot punch, added some red/white polka dot sheer ribbon and made a bow, I had some store bought embellishment to complete the look I was going for and placed this on a 5 1/4"x6 1/4" red cardstock background, last but not least, I used my white gel pen to give the entire red edges the stitch look!
I hope he likes it...I will probably enclose a gift card to his favorite Yogurt shop!

Birthday Cards

Hello there, here is a great card for that person who is going on a "Road Trip"...or maybe for that person who just got their very first car, or even a new convertible...at any rate, this card tells the whole story.
It's a '56/57 chevy and some of us are young enough to remember these cool cars (lol) I used my Nifty Fifties cart and did the car image @ 2" and words and Route 66 sign were done @ 1 3/4" the background was embossed with the polka dot folder..added some ribbon and used MS punch. This card should bring back some solid good memories...or make some new memories! Enjoy....

Birthday Cards

Just received my latest shipment of embossing folders....I love that I don't have to say much about this card because it is written all in the back ground...the presents are from the cart "New Arrival" and I had some printed paper with balloons on it and thought the wide polka dot ribbon was all I needed to add to this card.
couldn't help myself, I had to add a tag that says "for you" this card will come in handy somewhere down the line for a birthday wish for someone! Enjoy....

Baby Cards

This card shows the softer side for a baby girl, the pink/white twine adds that special flair to the hand crocheted flower (i made) added with a button top...the lace punch is from MS, the dry emboss done with my mini folders and the umbrella is so cute.....again recollections ready made card made this a super easy project....enjoy!

Paisley Cartridge

Hello fellow crafters....I recently received my twine from "The Twinery" it definitely adds to the decor of your project...luv the green & white....again this pattern is from the Paisley cart...I crocheted the green section of the flower on the shoe, added a yellow cloth covered brad on top of a white silk daisy flower...this was a fun card to design, the upper part of the green punch is leaves by MS, and I created a sign from my 1 1/2" scallop punch, I created the saying on the computer, placed it on a green cardstock and used my corner chomper to round the edges, did some doodling around it in white gel pen, the shoe was cut at 4" and I added a little bling with MS glitter pen, did a little more stitch doodling around the shoe...hope you like...

Paisley Cartridge

Hello there fellow crafters.....It is Wednesday and I thought I would do a couple of cards from the Paisley Cartridge....this giraffe is a simple card wishing that special person a Happy Birthday...I made the giraffe from the cart cut at 2 3/4" I tried to cut it at 4" but it was way too big for my card so I cut it down...I also thought that I would make my giraffe purple and yellow and decorate the rest of the card the same....the flower was also cut from the cart and I used "Stampin up" stamp that says Happy Birthday!...the grass was cut using the multi-blade scissors from MS...hope you like.....again my card is from recolletion.....
